Over the last several months I've been putting up a charming little website for my book, which will be a place for me to put junk that wouldn't fit on 490 pages.  You can go look, it's innocent enough.

I also put up a discussion forum there using dumb old FrontPage, and after a few weeks some spam bots found it and started attacking it.  FrontPage's code is so dunderheaded that it doesn't stop the dumbest of bots, so while I wasn't looking 1800 porno postings (just text and links...) showed up in the forum.  OK fine, I cleaned out that junk last month.

But since the internet never forgets, search engines had been crawling all over my little site and digesting all those nice porno postings.  Google gives high scores to forum content, so I guess over the months my site got quite the reputation for Good Stuff in their matrices. 

I couldn't figure out why a site that exists only for a book that isn't yet published was getting increased traffic every week.  Then I took a look at the attached report for the most popular keywords that were driving users to my site.  I guess I've had quite the collection of pervs looking at my book.

Which has somehow reached #250,000 in Amazon, even though it hasn't been published yet.  Imagine what I could have done with a racier title that people search for.  Like, maybe, "Secrets of Success with hot Russian MILFs."
